THE FIRST WAVE OF THE AURORA ON THE 21ST JANUARY 2005
This was a quite ghostly display which sporadically would burst into action from a quite docile state from my point of view in Hamilton. The green arch from the NE to NW was pretty much evident all night until about 2:30 am on the 22nd January, starting about 6:30 pm on the 21st January. I've got four movies from points during the night but this one is probably the most lively at 6:45pm on the 21st.
The movie above was shot over 35 minutes with a Canon 10D and Sigma 15 mm lens at f/4, ISO 400 from my location in Quarter, Hamilton. The movies consists of 88 frames at 20 seconds each.
